How to repair porcelain enamel It is possible to chip porcelain enamel, but only by striking it so hard that the underlying base metal is bent or warped. You can purchase do it yourself kits to repair damaged enamel, but it is recommend that you employ the services of a professional repair person, who can provide you with a higher quality, longer lasting repair job. When repairing porcelain enamel, a specialized type of paint is used. True porcelain enamel is “baked” on at high temperature, so a repair job will never be as strong as the original surface. It is advised that you do not try and repair items that are used for cooking, serving, or preparing food.
